Client: Nana Ai Katsu
Nana ai Katsu is a local, family owned shop located in Kaimuki. I created playful and happy graphics and illustrations to match their restaurant aesthetic and brand voice.
Their menu changed daily, so they needed an illustrated menu to help showcase the daily specials. I aimed to create a fun, vibrant design that fit the restaurant's atmosphere while making sure each dish looked both appetizing and true to its real-life version.
Nana Ai Katsu offers Japanese soda floats, and I created a menu featuring all the available flavors.
Since specials were available on specific days, it was important to keep loyal customers informed through social media. I created illustrations of the featured menu items for them to share their availability.
The owners had an appreciation for traditional ukiyo-e paintings, and requested for a mural inspired by the painting: Triptych of Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre. To
add a personalized twist, we had the skeleton revealing katsu-spam musubi as that is one of their most popular menu items.
